The story begins….
Three is a magic number. Think of The Three Musketeers or The Three Tenors. Then there’s Mick, Declan and Tony, the founding partners of The Grey Matters Network – a little less known perhaps, but a trio all the same.
They came together with a common goal in 2015. Each enjoyed a successful Senior Management career with blue-chip international companies, and each wanted to contribute their knowledge after stepping away from their high-level positions.
They put their grey heads together. How could make their experience count and contribute to the economy outside of a traditional corporate role? Not for the first time in their lives, a lightbulb moment: The Grey Matters Network was born.

The “R” word is not what it used to be. The idea that fit, healthy and ambitious fiftysomethings have much to offer the business world makes a whole lot of sense.
Naturally, the concept appealed to both fellow silver peers, and to companies who could leverage the valuable experience of the Associates to advise, implement and even fill interim senior roles. So, 4 years later the network has expanded to over 400 Associates and enjoys a growing list of customer success stories.

Tony leverages 35 years in the IT Industry as a senior leader in his capacity as a Business and Leadership Coach. In Tony’s corporate life he has built numerous start-ups. These included European and Global teams delivering a range of services including customer success, technical support and off-shore operations.
With almost 40 years experience in the I.T. industry and having run I.T. services companies for the last 15 years, Declan is a leading expert in his field. He founded Auxilium Consulting which delivers independent IT advice to the mid-market. Before this, he was the CEO of Unity Technologies.
Mick’s previous roles include MD of Aviva Health, European Claims Director Aviva & Services Director at Accenture. He has extensive experience in running large back office customer operations, outsourcing and complex service delivery models.
